Lisbon Airport
The nearest airport is Lisbon. You can book scheduled flights a year in advance, then you will have the cheapest tickets.

Express bus
If you prefer not to rent a car, you can take the express bus from Lisbon to São Martinho do Porto. There is a stop at the Intermarché supermarket. You can be there in less than 1.5 hours, which is even faster than by train. Upon arrival at Lisbon airport, turn right towards the tourist information office. If you go outside to the left, you will see a bus with number 2. This is the shultle bus that you have to take to the meeting point of all buses. From there you can take the bus to São Martinho do Porto. The buses are very comfortable, there is even WIFI on the bus.
